Electronics2000.co.uk is a website that offers a lot of info to all those who are passionate about electronics: online calculators, guides, technical data, and other things of the sort. Electronics2000.co.uk also offers a handy and free application called Electronics Assistant, application that puts together various calculators meant for someone who is passionate about electronics.

The Electronics Assistant installation file weighs in at less than 1MB, which is quite lightweight. This means that even on a lousy internet connection, the download will complete in a blink. Once you have the installation file, you can install Electronics Assistant on top of Windows 98, ME, XP, Vista, Windows 7, and on Linux via WINE. A straightforward setup wizard will guide you through the process and you will get to choose the installation directory and if you want an Electronics Assistant shortcut on your desktop.

The Electronics Assistant interface is as simple as they come: all the application’s main functions are presented as menus at the top. There’s a power calculator, resistor code calculator, frequency calculator, capacitor code calculator, voltage regulator calculator, and more. Just click the Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance, Power, Frequency, or Other menu and pick one of the many calculators that show up in the drop down menu. You can save a report for an active calculator and you can easily view and print reports.

On top of easy access to all sorts of calculators, Electronics Assistant provides easy access to the Windows calculator. There’s an easily identifiable calculator button on the application’s toolbar, which is also in the top part of the interface.

Electronics Assistant is freeware, meaning you will not have to part with your money to enjoy the functionality the application has to offer. But if you find Electronics Assistant useful and you want to support its development, consider making a donation.

Electronics Assistant is a free and very useful application for those interested in electronics, application that provides easy access to a variety of calculators.

Pros
Works with numerous Windows editions and with Linux (via WINE). From the simple interface you can access a variety of calculators. Save, view, print reports. Electronics Assistant is freeware.

Cons
None that I could think of.
